Position Summary

Pro Player Insurance Group (owner and operator of GreatFlorida Insurance) is a one-stop shopping source for auto, homeowners, boat, motorcycle, renters, commercial, life, health and umbrella insurance coverage.

Our agency is seeking a part-time social media & marketing intern who is ambitious, committed to excellence in their work, operates with a positive attitude, and is driven by strong client service.  This intern will be responsible for coordinating and executing the company’s social media strategy, working across key social media channels including Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.  This intern must be a creative individual that can think outside the box when it comes to social media strategies.  The role offers the intern a total immersion into a busy digital insurance business and this individual will work closely with key members of staff to communicate our vision through social media, digital communications and marketing.  This role will be instrumental in increasing our social media presence and increasing our clientele.

 

 

Responsibilities 

 

§  Promotional Materials & Events (Under manager supervision)

o   Gather, review and update all agency promotional items

o   Design welcome kit for new clients, creating fliers and memos with input from agency management

o   Contact local print shops for production cost estimates

o   Research promotional merchandise and contact vendors for estimates

o   Execute mailings to clients and potential customers

o   Analyze agency customer base

o   Identify demographic makeup of agency area and develop marketing effort plan

o   Identify key local media advertisement opportunities (web,TV, radio, print, billboard)

o   Identify key local community events for managers to attend, network and advertise

o   Assist with and attend marketing events

 

§  Website Management (Under manager supervision)

o   Review website content for consistency and clarity of style

o   Modify website content

o   Design content and layout of landing pages

o   Use Insurance Technologies Corporation (ITC) platform to manage website

o   Collaborate with ITC representative to learn how to use platform

 

 

§  Social Media Community Management (under manager supervision)

o   Research and recommend insurance agency social media tools to manage social media accounts

o   Assist with streamlining company social media accounts (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Flicker, and other social media platforms), ensuring uniform content and tone of voice for landing pages, graphics, and other elements within the communities

o   Increase the number of followers we have and engage with potential clients

o   Monitoring and replying to comments from followers

o   Posting content (both job- and industry-related) 2-3 times per week on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter

o   Posting updates to the company LinkedIn account

o   Use LinkedIn polls and surveys to build our social media footprint and reputation

o   Liaising with staff internally to ensure that their company profiles are accurate and up-to date

o   Build Facebook ‘likes’ by approaching potential clients and candidates through other social media channels and email marketing campaigns

o   Work with managers to implement other channel-specific campaigns (e.g. videos to YouTube, etc.)

 

§  Coordinating and Distributing Content (under manager supervision)

o   Develop, maintain and execute social media content calendar with insurance-related topics/articles that coordinates with seasonality

o   Schedule and coordinate a monthly brainstorming meeting with managers to establish content ideas for the month ahead, and to plan for a monthly social media, editorial, marketing and blogging calendar

o   Help to create, film and edit video content and post on YouTube and Instagram

o   Repurpose content from other sources for our own social media channels (and understand how to change the tone of the content for each channel)

 

 

 

§  Understanding and Monitoring Social Media Analytics (under manager supervision)

o   Track key social media analytics on a monthly basis, including Google Analytics, LinkedIn company stats, etc.

o   Track and report website statistics using Google Analytics. Look at how well specific content performs and look at the flow of traffic through to our Web site.

o   Build monthly reporting tools on social media analytics and performance against our ‘baseline targets’

 

§  Email Marketing and SEO (under manager supervision)

o   Research free online directories to generate inbound links for SEO

o   Use AgencyBuzz to design and distribute email campaigns for clients and prospects

 

§  Participate in trainings, meetings and classes for skill and knowledge development

§  Adhere and comply with established agency procedures

§  Adhere to standards of performance

§  Contribute to team effort by conducting related tasks as needed

§  Other duties as requested (e.g. maintain desk and office cleanliness)

§  Interact with customers, insurance carrier marketing reps and other office visitors

§  Work in the office at part-time capacity (15-20 hours per week) between the hours of

o   Monday-Thursday, 9:00am EST – 5:30pm EST

o   Friday, 9:00am EST-5:00pm EST

 

 

Candidate Profile and Experience Prerequisites

   High school diploma

   Currently enrolled undergraduate student studying marketing or communications or have an interest in social media or reputation management

   Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required

   Proficient skills in computer/internet use and Microsoft Office required

   Proficient skills and ability to use key social media tools (e.g. Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn)

   Experience managing and/or developing websites is preferred, not required

   Proficient skills creating and editing video content preferred, not required

   Motivated by meeting ambitious goals

   Possess exceptional organization skills and attention to detail

   Driven by demonstrating strong client service skills

   Ability to operate with purpose, urgency, and accuracy

   Strong written and verbal communication skills

   Communicate well and receive feedback with enthusiasm

   Take personal responsibility for their work and professional growth

   An ability to remain calm under pressure and a resilient attitude towards challenges

   An ability to prioritize work and complete tasks with quick turnaround times

   The ability to work collaboratively with a team

Benefits and Compensation

Stipend for this position is $250 per month.  Managers are flexible and will work around school schedule and exams.  Intern will have the ability to gain valuable work experience in a professional environment and acquire insurance industry knowledge. 

 

Health insurance and retirement benefits are not available with this position.
